Top Picks in Worship Music from the Worship Department!

25Oct

Hey everyone! We over here in the worship department wanted to share six of our favorite ''go to" albums for worship in the car and our personal worship times alone with the Lord. Check them out! We hope this music blesses you!!

Pastor Jason’s picks:

          1. Have it All (Bethel Music) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
For those of you who don’t know, Bethel Music is based out of Redding, CA, and they are a church that formed their own music label and they have been writing and producing original music for over 15 years. They have just now hit the mainstream worship market, thanks to hits like Love Came DownOne Thing RemainsCloser, and I Will Exalt, to name a few. Have it All is their latest “live" worship album release, and it’s by far their best yet. Some of my favorite tracks are Lion and the LambSpirit Move, and Be Enthroned, but my very favorite on the album is the spontaneous worship moment called Colors. If you have never listened to Bethel Music before, this is a great album to start off with.

           2. Simple Gospel (United Pursuit) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
United Pursuit is a community of young people based out of Knoxville, TN, that gathers together on Tuesday nights to do free, acoustic worship out of a big warehouse. Out of those spontaneous moments before the Lord in worship many songs have been birthed, like one specifically that everyone knows and loves, Set a Fire! These guys are raw and unplugged and I absolutely love their latest album, called Simple Gospel! Check out this album, specifically the song Simple Gospel, along with Met by Love and Never Going Back. These are some of my favs on the album.

           3. Brave New World (Amanda Cook) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
This is more of a solo project instead of a live worship album by Bethel Music's Amanda Cook, who has written songs we have been singing at Harvest Time for quite a while - songs like I Will ExaltCloser, and You Make Me Brave, to name a few. She is perhaps one of my favorite worship songwriters these days, specifically because her lyrics are well-thought out and not your typical “worship song” lyrics we sometimes hear these days. Her thoughts are creative, original, and grounded in Scripture and her love for the Lord. Brave New World shows off her skills as a wordsmith. My favorite on the album is The Voyage, which focuses on her journey in trusting the Lord in every season of her life. It talks about how through pain, heartache, and questions, He is always for us! You must check this song out, as well as the entire album. This is one of Bethel Music’s most excellent productions to date!

 Elizabeth’s picks:

          1. The Things We Did At First (Sean Feucht) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
Sean Feucht is a songwriter, wild worshipper, and founder of Burn 24/7, a grassroots global worship, prayer and missions organization. He travels internationally igniting people’s passion for worship and prayer. The Things We Did At First is such a sweet, sweet album of songs about our love for the Lord, His love for us, and seeking intimacy with Him. My favorite song on the album is You Delight in Me. It’s such a beautiful song about how we were created in love, how we are known by the Creator, and how He delights in everything about who we are. I listen to this song whenever I need to re-center my focus and remind myself Who I belong to!

          2. Invisible (Leeland) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
This. Album. It’s one of those projects that you start listening to, not really knowing what to expect, and you get blown away by the creativity that the writers use to express their heart for Jesus. For those that don’t know, Leeland is a band made up of Leeland Mooring & Casey Moore, who have been writing and producing music for many years, and they just recently joined the Bethel Music team. Leeland has cowritten many amazing worship songs, like Lion and the Lamb and Where You Are. Invisible is such a unique project that talks about Scriptures and things we go through in life in creative, fresh ways, both lyrically and musically. Their pure heart of love for the Lord comes through so strongly in every song. It’s a must-hear! Some of my favorite songs are King of My HeartBeloved, and Ever Love You. Don’t miss these songs and the rest of the album - it will bless you!

          3. The Undoing (Steffany Gretzinger) (Click here for iTunes) (Click here for Google Play)
The Undoing is such a gem of an album. Steffany Gretzinger is part of the Bethel Music family and has cowritten songs like Mercy and You Know Me. Steffany worships with wild abandon and love for Jesus, and each of the songs on her album carries such an anointing of release and freedom. Some of my favorites are Out of HidingSteady Heart, and No Fear in Love, but my absolute favorite is Cecie’s Lullaby. It’s such a sweet song from the Lord to us about His care, compassion, and tenderness towards us. This and every song brings such a refreshing to me every time I listen to The Undoing.
