The Wheat & the Weeds: Matthew 13:24-30

Why Parables?

What parables reveal:

  • What the Kingdom is like
  • The power and authority delegated to us as sons and daughters of the Kingdom
  • The keys to all the King's resources
  • The ultimate triumph of the Kingdom
  • The opposition to the Kingdom in the world

1. A Description of our Enemy

  • What he wants to do
  • What he cannot do

2. A Description of our Savior

  • He is the owner of the whole earth
  • He is the author of all that is good and only what is good, and He is continuously doing good on the earth.
  • He is the Master of hosts of angels, and He dispatches them to care for, defend, preserve and vindicate us.
  • A Description of our Savior
  • He has the power to destroy evil any time He wants
  • He values the cultivation of fruit and maturity in His sons and daughters more than the punishment of the unrighteous.
  • He has the wisdom to know how to deal with the enemy’s opposition in our lives and when!
  • He is the judge of the unjust and the rewarder of the righteous

3. A Description of our Experience on Earth

  • We will face opposition
  • God has a purpose in allowing the opposition to remain—our maturity

In spite of the opposition, we will succeed

We win in the end!
