Passage: James 5:1-11

In this passage, James talks about the nearness of the Lord's return - His parousia. These days before His return are the most exciting days to live in of all time. On the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, 3,000 were saved. In our day, 3,000 are saved every 29 seconds.
This is the time of God's last great harvest - but how do we live @ Harvest Time?
1. Stay focused on the call.
The Greek word is sterizo - establish your heart and fix your minds on the call to bring in the harvest, the call to provide for the work of the harvest, to call to care for the poor.
2. Stay focused on the hour.
It's 5 PM and we are last-hour workers like the men in the parable. Even if this isn't the last generation, it is certainly the last generation for those who hear us.
3. Stay focused on the Lord.
"The Lord is full of mercy and compassion."
- He cares
- He can; He is the Captain of the Host, Lord Sabaoth
- He will; He will vindicate you and vindicate your faith
What's the outcome of this kind of focus? Answered prayer!
James discusses the types of people whose prayers aren't answered, but also the type whose prayer is answered. he answers the cries of those who are focused on the Harvest.
